When you choose Optikhuset as your advanced optician, you are choosing a family that has dedicated its life to eye care. As a family-run practice, we can meet you in a way that larger chains often cannot. We work with medical optometry and advanced diagnostics, but above all, we work closely with you as an individual. Here, you are seen, heard and taken seriously.
We take the time to look deeper
An advanced optician goes beyond a standard eye test. With us, every visit begins with a conversation where you can describe how your vision works in everyday life. We want to understand both your needs and your experience. That is often where the solution begins.
We work with people who, for example:
- have not found answers with traditional opticians
- experience complex vision conditions
- notice changes in their field of vision
- have neurological symptoms
- need specialist contact lenses
- require an optician who can interpret advanced diagnostic results
For keratoconus, we often work with specialist contact lenses
Technology that provides clear answers
To understand your eyes in depth, we use:
- OCT to analyse the retina and optic nerve
- Myah to measure the cornea and axial length
- Henson visual field testing to detect loss and early changes
This is equipment typically used in clinical eye care, providing a high level of precision and confidence.

On-site workshop
We have our own on-site workshop where we edge lenses, adjust frames and carry out fine-tuning directly. This means you can often receive help the same day, and it allows us to maintain full control over quality at every step.

What our customers say
I would highly recommend this exceptional practice and the wonderful family behind it. By far the most thorough and professional eye examination I’ve ever had. They are highly engaged and incredibly skilled at helping you find the right design for both frames and lenses. I would happily give a sixth star if it were possible.
Anton H
Per is one of only a few active specialists in Sweden in binocular vision issues such as latent strabismus, something larger optician chains don’t seem to assess at all. A big thank you to everyone at Optikhuset for their expert help in understanding what both my daughter and I needed in terms of lenses and glasses. Per, Marita and Louise are outstanding in their service, care and friendliness. They truly go the extra mile to make you feel valued as a customer. An excellent range of high-quality eyewear throughout.

Frequently asked questions about advanced opticians
What does an advanced optician do?
An advanced optician works in depth with both vision and eye health. At Optikhuset, this means more advanced diagnostics using equipment such as OCT, Myah and Henson, along with a highly detailed analysis of complex vision conditions.
When should I book an appointment with an advanced optician?
You should consider an advanced optician if you experience recurring vision problems, suspect changes in your eye health, have double vision, headaches, irregular prescriptions, or a family history of eye disease.
Do you work with complex vision conditions such as keratoconus?
Yes. We have extensive experience in advanced optometry and the fitting of specialist contact lenses for keratoconus and other irregular corneas. When needed, we carry out corneal topography and provide closer follow-up care.
